Social Cohesion between Two Ethnic Groups
The youth unit of the 'SETIK' organization of Kandy has been formed under the theme of 'violent free youth group' accordingly, the central province is combined with Buddhists, Hindus, Christians and Muslims of the ethnic groups of Sinhala, Tamil and Muslims. The youth group in the diocese of Kandy is engaged with the youth group of 'EHED' organization in the diocese of Batticaloa to create peace and reconciliation among the youths in the country. So, a group of 55 youths in Kandy district joined for an exposure programme with the youths of Batticaloa on the 1st and 2nd of March 2013.
At this blood donation camp, 33 pints of blood was donated by the guests while the hosts donated 54 pints of blood. A youth of Batticaloa commenting on this programme said the fear and reluctance of donating blood has been removed with this programme.

Residential Computer Course
This training programme was held at the SETIK Auditorium, continuously for seven days, for which 24 youths (Sinhala & Tamil) participated.
The main objective of this training course is to provide an opportunity to the children of the poverty stricken families in the rural and plantation areas to enhance their computer knowledge, to enable them to secure suitable employment.
This programme provided a good opportunity to the participants to improve inter-ethnic. inter-religious and inter-cultural harmony.

The participants were enlightened about Lightening, Severe Drought, Landslides, Sudden Inflammation and Tsunami situations.
Mr. Ranaweera, the Director, Disaster Management Centre, Kandy and Mr. Amarasinghe Kalaldora of our Training unit functioned as Resource Persons at the Seminar in Kandy while Mr. Sivalingam from the Disaster Management Centre, Nuwara Eliya and Mr. Arulnesaraja of our organization, functioned as Resource persons at the Seminar in Hatton.
